Partly as a gift for unwavering seeking and partly by serendipity Jay found practical application to his seemingly pointless, arbitrary and heterogeneous skills through Applied Wonder. It is on one hand an attempt at solving several anagrams of practical life and on the other a tender and precious incubator.

He founded Applied Wonder (Previously Centre of Gravity Creative) 10 years back with an objective of changing the world for the better through applied creativity.

Jay has conceptualized some of the most impactful campaigns for social change in the country and worked on a range of issues like participative democracy, organic food, violence against women, anti-GM campaigns, microfinance, mental health, micro health insurance, Fair Trade etc.

He has worked with some of the most respected brands in the social space like the White Swan Foundation, TDU,  Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Swiss Aid Foundation, Ford Foundation, Janaagraha, Janalakshmi, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, TATA foundation, Piramal Foundation, Ashoka Foundation, Lifebuoy Social Mission etc.

Scripted and directed more than a hundred short films for social causes. Guided the creation of disruptive guerrilla campaigns, designed UI and UX for apps.

Jay is one of the rare behavior change experts with the capacity to conceptualize pure play creative ideas that are based on scientific behavior change levers. He has been the chief creative mind behind some of the most globally acclaimed behavior change campaigns like Superamma (superamma.org).

His poetry has sneaked under editorial radars to appear in global anthologies, magazines and papers. He is a compulsive doodler who honed his cartooning in the backbenches of numerous educational institutions. After completing his bachelors in mathematics his left brain defected to the right and he went on to dabble with animation as a remedial measure where he discovered his other great love -making poetic animated films. In short he wears various hats, some of which have fruits on them.
